Touching Stories

Choose your adventure – but this time on the iPad!

Talking about how the iPad will change the publishing insustry?
Well, the revolution for storytelling, for brand communication and advertising is right here…

Tool of North America and Domani Studios teamed up to bring 4 interactive stories to the iPad. By touching, shaking and turning your iPad, you can navigate, unlock and reveal unexpected variations in each of these stories. Shot by 5 different directors, these interactive, live-action, short stories evolve storytelling in ways that haven’t been done before on the iPad.

This is why we love the iPad. It is a technology that enables creativity…

A little missunderstanding

Our little girl of three years came up to me and said: “I want a bag, too.” It was clear that she means the iPad sleeves and also understandable since she sees us all the time using them and talking to friends about COMEMAI. So I thought why not, and was also curious which one she would choose and what she would be using it for.

“Which one would you like? The one with the endless endless roads? Or the one with the flowers? Or the one with the one thousand stories?” She liked the one with the stories because that’s the way she likes to cut paper, too, as she told me.

She sat down on the couch with the sleeve on her lap and started to play. I was observing from the kitchen table. She opened and she closed it, opened and closed it. She seemed happy but also hesitant as always when she has something on her mind.

After a while she got up and came up to me.

“This is really nice but… where is the computer?” Meaning the iPad… :-)

My very last newspaper

some beach

I remember clearly the last time I read a newspaper.

It was 4 years ago, in June 2006, at a beach of Southern Italy, after a relaxed day full of sunshine and happiness with my wife. I drank my second glass of Martini bianco on the rocks, watched the sunset and was effortlessly and without any rush reading through La Repubblica. I have to admit that – since it was the time of the Fifa World Cup that time aswell – I was mainly if not exclusively reading the sports section. A light breeze carassed my skin and I was feeling the presence.

In the last 4 years things shifted radically. Like I said I dont’t read any newspapers and two years ago I canceled all the magazine subscriptions I had. Since we don’t watch TV, my information consumption is reduced to digital.

Doing design for a living, I don’t have much time to read but at the same time I feel the necessity to be informed in many and diverse fields. At least half of my information I gather through following around 150 people on Twitter. Friends who know what I am interested in e-mail me the latest interesting news and I e-mail them what I think they are interested in and might not yet heard of. RSS-Feeds from dozens of design and media related blogs cover the creative and visual section. And I quickly scroll through the online-editons of 4-5 newspapers daily to have a good overview on world news. iPhone and now the iPad keep me informed on the go. Sounds stressful? It isn’t as much as it sounds because it’s a matter of organisation but – yes… it is stressful. And it certainly doesn’t give me the beach-feeling.

Funnily, what gives me back the beach-sunset-martinini-bianco-on-the-rocks-happy-day-feeling is using our freshly created COMEMAI iPad sleeves. I feel more relaxed. I take that moment. I lay back. And enjoy. Life is about the simple things…

Welcome to iPad-Love.com, the blog by COMEMAI.

COMEMAI_Cover_Story_01

What is this blog about?
With this blog we would like to cover a few things. When you are getting to know a product, a company, a brand, you might want to go beyond the surface of a online store. To get a feeling for the people and their values. Here we would like to give you those insights from behind the scene. Also we’ll post stories around the COMEMAI iPad sleeves. And what we hope you’ll find interesting about the Apple iPad. Opinions, innovations and stuff we come across on the internet that we find noteworthy and think you might, too.

So make sure you drop in once in a while.

If you want to learn more about COMEMAI you can read our WHY-section on the COMEMAI website.

All the best wishes,

Serena and Balázs
